AURES is one of the first POS and KIOSK hardware manufacturers to have integrated USB-C technology into all its new product ranges; universal, upgradable, fast and powerful, its advantages for points of sale and service are multiple, because a single cable is now sufficient to simultaneously connect power, computer data, audio and video streams.

Gone are the days of unwanted cables which, in addition to being ugly when they are on show, are too often a source of insecurity and instability. In addition, the USB-C uses very small and totally reversible connectors, which makes all connections much easier.

Far less cables!

The great innovative strength of USB-C technology lies first and foremost in its versatility, since it is capable of simultaneously transmitting computer data, video and audio streaming, even energy via a single cable that replaces all others.

USB-C is not strictly speaking a new protocol; it actually characterises a new type of connector that can accommodate the USB protocol, but also other protocols – such as HDMI for example, which can be used for connecting a secondary digital display screen on the back of an EPOS main screen without additional wiring. It is therefore important to be able to distinguish between the USB-C connector and the data that goes through the cable.

USB-C is universal

One of the major advantages of this new standard is its universal. Everything can be transferred via USB-C, which means that all current connectors can eventually be replaced.

Image, sound, data, everything is transmitted simultaneously and in real time, including the electrical power needed to recharge systems; the standard is also upgradable and can therefore be adapted to new protocols in the future.

USB type C is completely reversible

Another advantage of USB-C connectors is their total reversibility, which considerably simplifies all types of connections. There are countless times when the cable, key, USB and or memory card reader… appear in the wrong position!

Micro-format

Another advantage of USB-C is the very small size of the connectors, which are only 8.4 x 2.6 mm; thanks to their ultra-small dimensions, they can be easily and discreetly integrated into all types of equipment.

At AURES Technologies, their integration in the latest POS and KIOSK ranges not only reduces the number of cables and secures connectivity and equipment, but also considerably improves the aesthetic appearance of the systems.

The same goes for the associated peripherals, which can be easily fixed (but also removed) on the sides of AURES terminals. Thanks to USB-C technology, they are much more discreet on the POS.

Speed and power

USB-C is generally based on USB 3.1, a standard that has the advantage of offering higher transfer speeds with larger bandwidth.

The USB-C USB 3.1 is also intended to be more powerful with a voltage and intensity that can reach 20 volts and 5 amps, which brings a potential power of 100 watts.  This will allow users to recharge equipment and devices much faster and also without an external power supply.

AURES now offer this technology with its new JAZZ and TWIST POS terminals, as well as with the JAZZSCO Kiosk.
